Professional Mechanical Engineer

Sugarpine Engineering is a growing MEP engineering and consulting firm working in many sectors and diversified project types.

Location: Truckee, California. On-site. 5 days/week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Summary: Design and oversee HVACR and plumbing systems for residential and commercial buildings.
  • Manage Workload: Manage project scope, budgets, and timelines.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure system integration.
  • Design: Lead design development, perform code compliance reviews, and sign/seal engineering documents.
  • Supervise: Supervise junior engineers and review technical reports, drawings, and calculations.
  • Construction: Support construction by reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits.
Travel Required
  • California: Placer County, Nevada County. Several times per month.
  • Nevada: Washoe County, Douglas County. Several times per month.
  • California: Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles. Several times per year.
  • Some construction sites are in rural non-urban locations without transit. Must have means of transportation or ability to rent a car.
Mandatory Qualifications
  • Education: ABET accredited bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (BSME).
  • Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in MEP engineering, specifically with HVAC, plumbing, and energy services.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in California, Mechanical: Required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in the MEP, HVAC, plumbing, and energy sectors.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in CAD software, design tools, Revit, MS Office, and other relevant engineering software.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Hey, it’s engineering.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills (grammar, vocabulary) in English.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively on-site in a team environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Location: Daily on-time physical presence at the office is required.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $99,653.

Moving expenses: Not available.
